"Wow! Nearly 2500 Leaks were found!" |
American Efficiency Services, LLC Contact: Wally Scherer
July 14, 2003 – American Efficiency Services, LLC headquartered in Ellicott City, MD, has announced the successful inspection of four vacuum systems over the past two weeks for two major Food Processing Facilities. American Efficiency Services utilizes helium as a tracer gas to identify vacuum leaks, thereby reducing air ingress and increasing operational efficiency while improving the quality of the product. The initial inspection was to determine the source of a vacuum leak that was causing one of the critical systems to shutdown daily during the past year. One by one, each component within the vacuum boundary was inspected by American Efficiency Services’ Crew. A valve packing leak was identified on the system and the signature of the leak recorded on the helium mass spectrometer was comparable to the signature of the vacuum loss on the control room computer. The valve packing was tightened by the facilities maintenance department and the unit has now been operating for three continuous weeks without any threat of vacuum causing a system shutdown. “The importance of the initial inspection was to allow for continuous system operation so we can maximize system efficiency” said the Refinery Manager. “We contracted American Efficiency Services for the subsequent inspections as part of our Preventive Maintenance Inspections prior to outages so repairs can be made during scheduled down time.” About American Efficiency Services |
